Catherine Brouwer BA, GDLA, MDesS (Harvard), FAILA, M.ICOMOS
Catherine is a landscape planner and registered landscape architect. Her practice, Catherine Brouwer Landscape Architects, encompasses landscape character, scenic, cultural, heritage and intangible values assessments for strategic landscape planning and management. Catherine’s practice also covers landscape design for master plans, streetscape design, parks and gardens, and landscapes for commercial, industrial and institutional grounds.
Catherine is a widely respected expert in landscape heritage assessments, and has considerable experience in heritage landscape conservation management plans, heritage guidelines, impact assessments, expert witness reports, and design and management guidelines for heritage landscapes.
Catherine was a member of the Queensland Heritage Council from 2001 to 2007, a member of the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland for four years, and the Brisbane City Council Expert Advisory Panel for Advertising Signs from 2006 to 2019. She has contributed to the landscape architecture profession through teaching at QUT & University of QLD, positions on Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) and Gold Coast Council landscape design and urban design awards judging panels, presentation of landscape character and landscape heritage papers at Australian and international conferences, and serving on AILA committees including acting as AILA representative.
