Many of Australia ICOMOS’ colleagues and counterpart organisations have prepared resources in relation to the effects the COVID-19 pandemic is having on cultural heritage collections. See below for links and information.

 

 

 

Closed by COVID-19 – Checklist for GLAMs and Historical and Heritage Sites: v 1.2 now available

Our colleagues at Blue Shield Australia and the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM) have prepared this Guide, which has been produced to provide guidance for people who are responsible for closing collections of movable cultural heritage in collecting organisations such as archives, galleries, herbaria, historical societies, libraries and museums and at heritage sites.

UNESCO supports culture and heritage during COVID-19’s shutdown

Initiatives to support cultural industries and cultural heritage as billions of people around the world turn to culture for comfort and to overcome social isolation during the COVID-19 sanitary crisis, which is hitting the culture sector hard.

Impact of Pandemics on Cultural Heritage, ICOMOS Nepal

ICOMOS Nepal organised a video conference on 15 April 2020 to discuss the theme “Impact of Pandemics on Cultural Heritage” and to prepare the short report below for the International Day for Monuments and Sites 2020 theme of “Shared Cultures, Shared Heritage, Shared Responsibility”. The report was compiled based on contributions by ICOMOS Nepal Members.

ICOMOS Spain Working Group on Heritage and COVID-19

This Working Group articulates many of the management, conservation and valorization teams of heritage sites in Spain (national registered cultural assets, UNESCO World Heritage sites, Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, etc).

They have prepared a Recommendations of ICOMOS Spain document in relation to the reopening of cultural assets, museums and heritage equipment and their adaptation to what has been called the “new normal” against COVID-19.
