Member Spotlight

Coral Montero Lopez

Last month, during a recent visit to Mexico, I was invited to do a presentation on how Archaeology is done in Australia, particularly in Western Australia. I spoke about the limitations and opportunities that we encounter in archaeology every day in Australia and compared it to how Archaeology is done in Mexico and America.

Because sharing different points of view, comparing how things are done, and acknowledging that there are many ways to do archaeology is also part of national archaeology week. (Image national archaeology week webpage)

Our members work in many and varied facets of cultural heritage and as your membership organisation we would like to showcase some of your expertise and initiatives. If you would like to be included in an edition of our e news, please send a paragraph or two and a photo to our secretariat: austicomos@deakin.edu.au

Please note we cannot advertise individual businesses, this is purely to highlight our wonderful members.

We welcome submissions for 10 or 20 minute papers that relate to these themes. Submissions might address intangible and tangible cultural heritage, food heritage, contested heritage, and creative approaches to interpretation and conservation. Submissions might explore local, national, or international contexts, but should reflect on how they relate to everyday heritage in the ACT region. Please include:
