New issue: Change Over Time
Change Over Time: An International Journal of Conservation and the Built Environment, published by the University of Pennsylvania Press, is pleased to announce the latest issue 10.2 Integrity is now available online and in print. This issue provides a valuable contribution to critiques of “integrity,” one of the central constructs of the conservation field. The authors in this issue raise questions about how we might differently perceive and engage with this core concept from legal, methodological, interpretive, ethical, and design perspectives. Each article examines how definitions of integrity impact access – physical, historical, and socio-cultural – to our shared heritage.

WORKSHOPS / COURSES / EVENTS / EXHIBITIONS
Behind the scenes at The Orpheum | Cremorne, Sydney | 30 May, 6.30pm AEST
For one night only, Ian Hoskins and Peter Sheridan will take centre stage to showcase the history of The Orpheum and its architecture (with a few snippets about glamorous stars and starlets). You’ll learn about its renowned architect; be shocked at how developers turned it into a shopping arcade; and marvel at the way Mike Walsh brought it back to its former glory. In a project that took Walsh many years, loving attention was paid to art deco restoration – including a Mighty Wurlitzer organ from the Fresno Theatre in California. Surprisingly, The Orpheum is not on the State Heritage Register, but moves are definitely underway.
