Jacqui Pearce

Jacqui has worked in architectural practices specialising in heritage and conservation from the commencement of her architectural career. As the director of a specialist heritage practice for the past10 years Jacqui has focussed on heritage conservation and has been involved with a wide variety of conservation projects. New design in character areas and adaptive re-use of existing significant buildings has been a key area of concentration. A number of Conservation Management Plans covering cemeteries, health buildings, grammar schools and churches have been provided. The practice assisted with the on-going stone conservation of Brisbane Parliament House and major sandstone conservation of St Mary’s Church Ipswich, achieving a Gold Award for Conservation in the Ipswich Awards for Excellence 2010.

Jacqui has been the recipient of a number of heritage awards including the Ipswich Awards for Excellence, Gold Award for Conservation Rhossilli House, the Gold and Overall Design Award for Queens Park Environmental Education Centre. A National Trust of Queensland, Governor’s Heritage Award (Silver) for the conservation and adaptation of the former Kirra Hill Primary School to the Kirra Hill Community and Cultural Centre. Current work includes the conservation and adaptation of a brick 1885 hotel in Ipswich, also conservation of the sandstone and slate roof at St Mary’s Church in Warwick.

Jacqui has been a member of the Ipswich City Council Heritage Consultative Committee and Design Sub-Committee for more than 10 years and member of ICOMOS for over 8 years.
