Every three years, ICOMOS International holds its General Assembly, which comprises meetings of the International Executive Committee, Advisory Committee and Scientific Council, voting in of the new International Executive Committee, meetings of the International Scientific Committees and a conference.
The General Assembly is usually attended by approximately 800 heritage professionals from around the world and is a wonderful opportunity to travel, learn more about the larger International ICOMOS organisation and attend talks and lectures on heritage conservation topics from around the world.
Many Australian ICOMOS members regularly attend the General Assembly – the 2008 General Assembly in Canada was attended by more than 25 Australians!
ICOMOS International’s General Assembly page has information on past General Assemblies.
The 17th General Assembly and Scientific Symposium of ICOMOS was held from 27 November to 2 December 2011 in Paris, France. The symposium theme was “Heritage, as an engine for development”.
Visit the ICOMOS GA 2011 webpage for further information about this event.
