Matthew has extensive experience in archaeological and cultural heritage practice both nationally and internationally (i.e. Australia, the United Kingdom, Papua New Guinea, and the Middle East), including pre-construction survey and salvage excavation on large mining and infrastructure development projects. Matthew worked as Senior Heritage Consultant with a leading cultural heritage consultancy in Victoria, before commencing work with UQCHU in 2012. He has skills in the preparation of cultural heritage management plans, cultural heritage assessments, and due diligence reports for a range of clients from the government, public and private sectors. Matthew has also participated in the assessment of several World Heritage Nominations and is currently directing a project in southern Iraq. Matthew has been a full Member of ICOMOS since 2012.
